Bloublommetjieskloof Cleaning & Body Care products are manufactured and bottled on Bloublommetjieskloof Biodynamic Farm in Wellington. The farm has been running biodynamically for 35 years and has recently been certified by Demeter.
Demeter is the trademark for product from certified biodynamic production.
Biodynamic farming is a system of farming where there is a conscious awareness of the spiritual world in all farm activities. Since synthetic chemicals form a barrier against the spiritual world, absolutely none are ever used. The products are not only safe for the environment, but are good for the soil – wash water can be run directly into the garden. The products are also safe for all septic systems.
Unlike synthetic chemicals, the products do not give magical results with minimum effort – but if used correctly, they work just as well. The magic of these products will be discovered in the side effects.
The household cleaning products include a Basil All Purpose Cleaner with scourer, a Feverfew Dishwashing Liquid, an Herbal Sanitiser, Soapwort Laundry Liquid and Fabric Softner, a Paw Paw Wash Brightning Powder, and a Dishwash Paste for automatic dish-washing machines. The herbal extracts act as active ingredient which together with a natural liquid soap made on the farm using organic coconut oil, soapwort and potash lye (a mineral ingredient made from potassium salt) make a strong and effective cleaning product.

Feverview Dishwashing Liquid
available in 1 litre & bulk 5litre sizes
strong plant saponins and base soap cleaning action with fresh lemon fragrance
How to use: The dishes should first be immersed into a sink of hot water. A sponge onto which a tiny amount of dishwashing liquid is squirted, is then used to wash each item individually. The dishwashing liquid is very concentrated and if used in this way, is very economical. (conventional products contain a chemical foam booster). Can be used for washing windows as well as a Fruit & Veg wash.

Herbal Disinfectant
– available in 1 litre & bulk 5litre sizes
plant extracts together with a mixture of essentail oils reduce bacterial count by 89% after 5 minute contact time.
How to use: after cleaning, spread thin layer of disinfectant over surfaces. Do not rinse. One sqeeze into toilet bowl.

Basil All Purpose Scourer
– available in 1 litre & bulk 5litre sizes
a liquid all-purpose cleaner with basil extract as fly repellent and finely miled kaolin clay as natural scourer
How to use: The cleaner contains clay as a scourer – this tends to settle out, so the bottle must be shaken before each use – (conventional products would include an emulsifying chemical to prevent settling out). Apply small amount to wet sponge and clean. Rinse with clean water.
For floors, surfaces, ovens, basins, baths etc.

Dishwashing Paste for automatic dishwashing machines
- available in 1litre & bulk 5 litre sizes
natural soap paste for all automatic dishwashing machines. No salt required.
How to use: for automatic washing machines should be used in the dosage as indicated on the label – a second wash is recommended for very soiled dishes. Use as directed – do not increase the dose as too much foam will cause problems with the machine. No salt is required. 1 tblspoon per load.

Soapwort Laundry Liquid

extra soapwort content with the base soap ingredient, lavender fragrance
How to use: the Laundry Liquid can be used on its own, and households with mainly natural fabric clothing find it works well. Synthetic fibre need a little extra and the Paw Paw wash brightner can be used by adding it together with the laundry liquid in the soap tray of the washing machine. Use 1-2 tblspoons per normal wash load. Increase dose for soiled washing. For stain removal, rub undiluted Laundry Liquid on stain. Leave overnight and wash as normal.

Paw Paw Wa

a natural enzyme basesd washing powder to be used together with the Soapwort Laundry Liquid if required. Gives an extra brightness and whiteness to fabric
How to use: Can also be used to remove stubborn stains by soaking the garment overnight in a solution: (1-2 tbs/10litre water)
